Token mechanics
How this token works
An operator performs eligible ordinary GEODNET base-station work and receives ordinary GEOD compensation under the current halving, quality, location, and distribution rules.
An operator wins and maintains a designated StableHex multiplier spot through geographically targeted high-quality station work, creating a separately deferred and performance-scaled incremental GEOD bonus.
A Foundation-selected backbone operator maintains the GIP6 performance and identity gates and receives an equal share of the weekly GEOD pool funded by forfeited ineligible-period rewards.
A miner wins and retains a spot inside an extant producing Phase II SuperHex and receives the incremental 2x or 4x GEOD multiplier component during the remaining one-year cohort window.
Current GEODNET policy links a portion of network revenue to GEOD purchases and dead-address transfers. Repeated observed transfers remove tokens from accessible float and may benefit remaining holders indirectly; the current exact revenue share and fiat purchase spend are not independently reconciled.
An existing producing SuperHex position restricts GEOD principal, can mature into a fixed 20% GEOD bonus, and independently supplies eligibility for a shared ballot that realizes normalized veNFT governance influence.
Closed-population team or investor GEOD remains allocation-locked, receives an individually arranged delegated voting wallet, and uses the shared ballot to realize normalized veNFT governance influence.

$GEOD token design insights
Productive network work
Ordinary certified triple-band GNSS operation is [81] → [21]. The current schedule caps base issuance at 6 GEOD per eligible station-day; uptime, signal quality, ordinary hex sharing, and a 10-GEOD distribution threshold change realization. The payment comes from the mining allocation, so it is compensation in the same token and exposes holders to float dilution rather than an evidenced customer-revenue share.
StableHex is [82] → [22]. A qualifying selected station can accrue the incremental tier-minus-one amount over its ordinary base, held 30 days and released on the RRR curve. The live Console lists 1,082 active and 78 producing regions. GIP6 backbone work [83] → [23] instead earns an equal weekly share of GEOD forfeited from ineligible mining periods; the pool and beneficiary selection differ from ordinary mining.
Phase II SuperHex miner work is [84] → [24]. An eligible miner wins or replaces a 2x/4x spot under seven-day and fourteen-day quality gates. The modeled benefit is only the incremental multiplier-minus-one GEOD component. Three active and 14 producing regions were listed; no new proposal-stage stake was listed.
Revenue-linked accessible-float removal
Cashflow [25] is GEODNET’s policy of purchasing GEOD with a portion of network revenue and moving it to the dead address. The official support article says 80%, while the current token page gives no percentage; the exact current share is therefore withheld. Twenty-five September 2026 transfers to the dead address total 1,085,000 GEOD. This verifies the downstream recipient and repeated removal, not the fiat purchase spend of those transfers. Remaining holders have an indirect effective appreciation channel, subject to demand, market execution, concurrent emission and unlocks; there is no dividend or ERC-20 totalSupply decrement.
Native stake and governance
Existing SuperHex principal is restricted as [71]. Successful completion of a one-year producing term can return principal plus the fixed 20% GEOD bonus [26]; the aggregate 2,995,000-GEOD proxy balance cannot all be assumed bonus-eligible. The position also qualifies for ballot action [86] → Governance [3]. Locked team/investor GEOD has its separate allocation restriction [72] → delegated wallet [85] → the same ballot. Influence is normalized and depends on proposal terms, turnout, quorum, pass threshold, and implementation. No ballot was open in the captured list.
