Implementation DetailsImplementation
1. Risk Exposure7

Represents the creation of a boost by staking BGT, leading to creation of unconditional cashflow and enabling boost delegation. The tokens are immobilised for at least 2000 blocks (at the time of writing) and therefore exposed to runaway depreciation.

[7] = ƒ(tokenPrice, tokenAmt, boostDropDelay)

  • tokenPrice — is the price of BGT at lock time, determining together with the BGT number the overall exposed value
  • tokenAmt — is the number of locked tokens
  • boostDropDelay — is the minimal delay before a boost can be dropped (as stated, 2000 blocks at the moment)
2. Conditional Action81

Represents the boost delegation to a validator. This action allows the user to enter the incentive market by begetting additional emissions for the boosted validator; these BERA emissions are directed to reward vaults and generate Incentive Tokens therefrom, which are partially distributed to the boosters (refer to the VCIP section for further information).

[81] = ƒ([7], delegatedAmount, delegatee, boostDistribution)

  • delegatedAmount — is the amount of BGT the user has delegated
  • delegatee — is the boosted validator
  • boostDistribution — is the distribution of delegated BGT before the user's delegation (together determining the boost of each validator)
3. Future Cashflow21

Represents the income derived as the user's share of the incentives captured by the boosted validator from the Reward Vaults.

[21] = ƒ(81, validatorCommission, validatorStake, boostParameters, IncentiveRate)

  • validatorCommission — Indicates the percentage of Incentive Tokens that the validator retains as a commission for directing BGT emissions to a Reward Vault
  • validatorStake — Reflects the total stake of the validator, which impacts his ability to enter the active set
  • boostParameters — Represents the system parameters that determine the reward emission computations (see the VCIP section)
  • IncentiveRate — Indicates the rate at which the validator's preferred Reward Vault offers Incentive Tokens per BGT directed to it, as set by the Incentive Token Manager
4. Future Cashflow22

Reflects the additional revenue stream BGT holders receive from the core dApp fees, which are distributed in WBERA as a secondary cashflow mechanism. The amount of income is tied to the usage of the dApp, meaning that as transaction activity increases, holders benefit from a larger share of fees.

[22] = ƒ(totalUserBoost, totalBoost, totalDAppFees, WBERAConversionRate)

  • totalUserBoost — Represents the amount of BGT the user has staked via the Staker
  • totalBoost — Reflects the total amount of staked BGT and therefore the portion of cashflow to which the user is entitled
  • totalDAppFees — Reflects the total fees collected from core Berachain dApps (BEX and HONEY Swap) over a given period, which are auctioned for WBERA
  • WBERAConversionRate — Represents the rate at which the collected dApp fees are converted into WBERA through the auction process in the FeeCollector contract
5. Conditional Action82

Represents the necessary steps BGT holders must take to engage in governance, including creating proposals, delegating voting power, and casting votes.

[82] = Binary

  • Binary — Indicates whether a BGT holder participates in governance activities such as voting
6. Governance3

Represents the authority BGT holders have to oversee the admission of new reward vaults into the whitelisted set, thereby making them eligible to receive BGT emissions from validators. This power allows holders to shape the ecosystem’s incentive structure by determining which vaults can participate in the distribution of rewards.

[3] = ƒ([82], UserVoteParticipation, UserVoteAllocations, UserStrategyRepresentations)

  • UserVoteParticipation — Represents the extent of a BGT holder’s engagement in Berachain’s governance process, measured by their contribution to the quorum required for proposals to pass.
  • UserVoteAllocations — Indicates how a BGT holder distributes their voting power across different governance proposals on Berachain, such as voting for or against whitelisting a new Reward Vault to receive BGT emissions.
  • UserStrategyRepresentations — Reflects the strategic preferences of a BGT holder in Berachain’s governance, such as prioritizing the addition of new incentive assets to Reward Vaults or adjusting BEX protocol fees.
7. Representation5

Reflects the one-way mechanism through which BGT can be redeemed for BERA at a 1:1 ratio, effectively tying its value to that of BERA.

[5] = ƒ(BERAMarketValue)

  • BERAMarketValue — Reflects the external market equilibrium value of BERA and therefore a lower bound on the value of BGT.
